Lehr- und Forschungsgebiet Signalverarbeitung und Mustererkennung Mitglied in EUROPRACTICE

Through EUROPRACTICE we have access to leading edge CAE tools for chip and PCB design.
The circuit design work is far ranging. The application areas range from VLSI circuit layout to standard design synthesis, especially high-end data acquisition and processing in the field of material sciences for space based experiments, and design of programmable logic devices (FPGA).

Our computing facilities include (among others) the following software tools running on modern SUN workstations and/or PCs:

• Protel (PCB)
• Quartus II & MaxPlus II (Altera)
• Synopsys (Synopsys Simulation and Synthesis & HSpice)
  • Synopsys University Program
• Xilinx (Alliance & Foundation)
  • Xilinx University Program

EUROPRACTICE is an EC initiative which aims to stimulate the wider exploitation of state of the art microelectronics technologies by European industry. The ultimate goal of EUROPRACTICE is to enhance European industrial competitiveness in the global market place.

One way of doing this is to promote the usage of high-end tools and equipment at universities and research centres.
