Project Description

Main goal of the project is to strengthen research in and education of the future technology software engineering and in related fields at the respective partner institutions.

During the last three years the main issue has been to cooperatively develop a joint web-based course on software engineering, the materials of which are already in use by several partner universities in South East Europe. The work results gained were presented at three international conferences so far.

In the coming two years it is planned to expand the course with additional current topics. It is also planned to amend the course with more case studies for educational enrichment. Further on, localized versions - based on the English language materials - will be developed. The translating process is expected to be undergone supported by tools. This and other tools will be developed in the course of joint project work and ought to become the basis for e-learning activities in the project.

Besides the course on software engineering additional courses will be of interest: "Object-oriented programming in Java", "Compiler construction", and "Project management". The project considers the joint development of shared educational materials for this fields.

The hitherto second main focus of the project, a cooperative research project on distributed software reengineering of a technical system from experimental physics, will be continued. Here a tool for refactoring of C++ programs is under development.

Meetings

Meetings are conducted under the auspices of "Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe" aimed at the improvement of educational and scientific conditions of countries in that region.

Meetings during the preceding years:
