• 2007 - 2009 DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, German Research Foundation) Awarded research funding for project "Reliability and Performance of Service-Oriented Architectures" to employ one PhD student and four research student assistants.
• Best paper award at QEST  2004 for Analysis and Algorithms for Restart, a joint paper with Aad van Moorsel.
• 2003 - 2008 DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, German Research Foundation) Awarded research funding for project "QoS in reconfigurable, partly wireless networks: Definition and Evaluation" to employ one PhD student and four research student assistants.
  
• 1997 - 2002 DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, German Research Foundation), employed in research project "Modelling with Second Order Stochastic Petri Nets" (including travel grants).
