nokia 7610
introduction
abstract
At the beginning of september 2004, I got my nokia 7610 smartphone. playing around, I noticed some bugs, strange behaviour and missing features. there are already some bug-pages available in the net, so my intention is to just show you how to add the things nokia forgot mostly with freeware.
about the phone
As the 7610 is based on Symbian OS, there's a plurality of applications for Series 60 that should run under this environment.
some of the most important reasons, I wanted this smartphone are:
- huge display
- Symbian OS (programmable via C++ and JAVA[micro edition])
- 1.3 megapixel camera (at least a bit disillusioning)
- usefull calendar / time planer
- extendable memory via MMC-RS
- not so huge as sony erricson's P910i ;-)
features missing - and how to add them
automatic key-lock
description
the phone has support for manual key-locking like every phone is used to have. that's great for not calling the first people in your phonebook inside your pocket...
but nokia missed to give you some kind of auto-locking that automatically locks the keypad after a specified amount of unused time
solution
there's a litte program, that supports autostart and simply does the job, called AutoLock by Petteri Muilu.
