My current fields of interest include CORBA and distributed applications as well as document processing with XML. So I'll give lectures on these topics in the current summer term.
The combination of these two technologies seems to have a big potential for achievement and will be the subject of my future research. In particular, the development and propagation of XML related techniques will push the use of XML. One example application, I like to play with, is XSLT - a language for transforming XML documents (but not only ...). My latest activities focus on the implementation of an STX processing engine in Java, called Joost.
My former activities included particularly the distributed design and implementation of intelligent telecommunications services. My diploma thesis - finished in July 1998 - comprises an event based architecture for IN services implemented by means of CORBA.
Aside from it, some students and me have worked on a research project for introducing the XML technology in the development and execution of intelligent telecommunication services. This project lasted for two years from 1999 to 2001 and was promoted by Siemens AG.
