location sensing (mobile computing)

The act of location sensing is a needed precursor of any further processing to provide Location Based Services (LBS). Location sensing can be achieved in a number of ways that differentiate wildly in the accuracy, probability, client computer power, service computer power, and access point distribution.

The seminar speech was given w/o much of a document, a few pages for a handout with the table sheet being the only one used for real. Here is the pdf that describes most stuff that was told in the actual seminar of "mobile computing" in winter 2001/2002.
